The Silent Room is a commission unlike any other: a space dedicated to the experience of stillness. Acoustic plaster walls, cork floors and heavy linen drapery work together to create an environment where sound is softened to a whisper. The single window — a narrow vertical slot — admits a controlled beam of light that tracks across the room through the day, functioning as a silent clock.

Acoustic Plaster
Micro-perforated acoustic plaster absorbs sound across the frequency range, creating an almost uncanny quiet.
Cork
Natural cork flooring provides both acoustic insulation and a warm, yielding surface underfoot.
Heavy Linen
Double-layered heavy linen drapery can be drawn to enclose the space entirely, softening both light and sound.
Clay Render
Hand-finished clay render on the feature wall adds a natural warmth without visual distraction.
